I would love to see a film or mini-series based on City. I had raised this idea with a few people in LA, but without success. Does anyone know if there has been other effort toward this end? I discovered City in 1961 (I was 13) and have read it every dozen years since; as well as reading it to my children and my wife. |

Hello Sr. I am writing just to wish you a happy and better 2021, to thank you for your excellent work and to tell you that an edition of Cosmic engineers appeared in Spanish in August 2020, of which I am attaching the data and cover. Unfortunately I could not get it in a better resolution. The edition is from a small publisher in Spain, from which we do not receive material in Argentina, so for now I will only see it in advertisements. I hope it is useful to you.

As a youngster Clifford D. Simak was one of my favorite SF authors, the other one being Philip K. Dick. Both those excellent writers have very distinctive literary voices.
What's interesting is that, despite being one of SF's most acclaimed writers, after his death, Simak has faded from view whilst PKD is now practically mainstream. In truth, watching PKD's trajectory from completely unknown author outside the field to widely respected writer in his own right has been one of the most astonishing events of my life.
Anyway, just started rereading Simak's corpus via purchasing old second-hand editions (I like the cover art of those old SF paperbacks and hardbacks) since there's a few I missed from wayback.
Best, Ubik |

¡¡Hola!!!
Argentina. Daniel Tissera ¡¡Gracias!! |

Started reading Simak when I was 16, back in 1963. CITY was sublime--( "of such excellence, grandeur, or beauty as to inspire great admiration or awe" ). Simak was looking for meaning, and he got me started doing the same thing. When we get to Eternity we'll finally be able to talk about this! I have been an sf fan for over 60 years so my site gives a bit of my perspective. I would love to communicate with other SF fans. |

This is just a quick message to thank you for such an AMAZING work. I am currently finishing my Ph. D. dissertation on Simak (I believe one of the first), and I can't find this web more useful than I do. May more readers get enchanted by this unique Simakian style! |
